Nick Alexander is the editor of the Service Industries J and was guest editor of Business History (40,4) and of the International Marketing Review (17, 4/5) jointly with Anne-Marie Doherty. Jim Bell was joint guest editor (with Katsikeas and Morgan of Cardiff Business School) of the International Business Review(15,5) and is a member of the Editorial Boards of the European J of Marketing and the International Business Review. Jim Bell was a visiting associate professor in international business/marketing at the U of Otago, 1997-99. Dolores O’Reilly was a Jean Monnet Fellow at the European U Institute, Florence, 1996-97, held a summer school scholarship at the U of South Carolina, 1997 and was a visiting fellow at U of Calif. (Irvine), 1998 and at the U of Memphis, 1999.

David Demick was awarded a 5A/Excellent by the EPSRC assessors of the strategic marketing TCS prrogramme with Emo Oil Ltd. He was Chairman of the Chartered Institute of Marketing, Northern Ireland, 1995-96.
Nick Alexander is a member of the Retail and Consumer Services Foresight Panel, the Foresight Task Force on E-Commerce, the Retail Export Group of British Trade International and is the co-ordinator of the International Retail Research Group. Kate Greenan is a member of the Advisory Board for the Learning & Teaching Support Network for Business, Management and Accountancy and a subject specialist reviewer Business & Management, 2000-01. Dolores O’Reilly is chairman, Air Transport Users Committee, Chambers of Commerce, Ireland and gave evidence to the House of Lords European Communities Committee, sub-Committee B, (Energy, Industry and Transport) Airline Regulation, 1999. She is also the Northern Ireland representative on the UK Board of the University for Industry and is a member of the Board of Derry Investment Initiative.

The group hosted a series of ‘Marketing Retreats’ in Belfast which were attended by leading academics from around the world. The group also hosted the XIXth International Consumer Studies and Home Economics Research Conference, Belfast, September 1999, sponsored by Tesco and edited the proceedings.
